Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! – that’s what guests had to say at the event Hog Roast Kirk Smeaton catered recently, and not just because they were singing along to ABBA!
With summer in full swing and temperatures climbing upwards of 20 degrees, event organisers have been making the most of the dry spell by hosting open-air events. Last weekend, we were part of an outdoor sing-along showing of Mamma Mia! which saw hundreds of people turn up to soak up the atmosphere and belt out classic tune after classic tune!
Not only were they treated to a fantastic view of the award-winning musical, but the organisers had the brilliant idea to hire Hog Roast Kirk Smeaton for the catering, ensuring everyone’s appetites were more than satisfied.
Our team was thrilled to be a part of this event, and under the expert guidance of our catering manager, Chris, we prepared a hog roast that had guests clamouring for more.
Chris worked his magic, spending several hours roasting the pork to absolute perfection. The skin was crispy, the meat was tender and rich, and the flavours were spot on. To top it off, our homemade sage and onion stuffing and applesauce accompaniments added an extra layer of deliciousness. For convenience, everything was packed onto gluten-free rolls and served on disposable plates with napkins, making it easy for guests to enjoy their meal right from their spot in front of the big screen.
Of course, we didn’t forget about the veggies and vegans either! Our BBQ-pulled jackfruit buns were a hit, offering a smokey and flavourful plant-based alternative. Paired with our vegan coleslaw dressing, these buns were a tasty treat that everyone could enjoy.
Hog Roast Kirk Smeaton was delighted to be part of this special night, feeding happy guests and adding flavour to a memorable experience. The combination of a great movie, lively music, and delicious food created an unforgettable atmosphere. We even joined in on some of the songs—because who can resist singing along to ABBA?
