Baby showers started as an American tradition but are quickly taking over the UK! They are a great way to gather with your friends and family before the arrival of your baby, as well as offer a chance to enjoy party games, food, and exchange gifts. Lily’s sister Emily found out that she was pregnant earlier this year and is expecting her baby to be born in the New Year. With the due date quickly approaching, Lily planned to host a baby shower for her sister to enjoy, along with 30 of their female friends and family members. This was set to be a great party, with everyone eager to shower Emily with gifts and to make guesses as to when the baby will be born. Alongside the entertainment, Hog Roast Worsborough had been hired to provide catering for the occasion, with a menu that will be enjoyed by all of the guests. As well as a tasty main course, our catering manager Steven was also hired to provide a delicious dessert course to follow.
On the day of the baby shower, Steven and his team arrived at the venue and began to prepare the main course. This included roasting the hog and ensuring that it was cooked to perfection, before it was expertly carved and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. The mains were served with fresh chips and seasonal salad dishes to create a varied main meal.
Following the main course, the guests then chose from our variety of dessert options, including profitless, summer pudding, and chocolate torte. Each dish was served with fresh berries and English cream to ensure that they looked as good as they tasted!
