Doncaster has been blessed with some beautiful weather as of late, and we love to see it! With temperatures entering the high twenties most days and not a drop of rain in sight, the conditions have been perfect for outdoor events and celebrations, which, we’re pleased to say, our fellow Doncaster residents have been taking full advantage of.
Last Saturday, Hog Roast Pollington was hired to work at a family inflatable fun day nearby. The event, which was organised by Timmy, had attracted the attention of hundreds of people, who promptly purchased their tickets soon after they went on sale.
Using the money raised from ticket sales, Timmy had come to Hog Roast Pollington in search of a family-friendly menu plan that would accommodate everyone’s tastes, and after taking a look through our portfolio and asking for our catering manager, Steven’s, advice, he excitedly decided on our Gourmet BBQ Menu, which checked all of his boxes. The range of flavoursome meats, the scrumptious veggie/vegan option for non-meat-eaters and the handful of yummy sides were everything he had been looking for – and more!
Timmy felt extremely confident in Hog Roast Pollington’s catering abilities, so he updated the guests, letting them know of our involvement before the event went ahead. This made the ticket holders even more excited for the day, and that excitement helped the time fly by!
Before anyone at Hog Roast Pollington knew it, the day of Timmy’s event had arrived, and by 8 o’clock that morning, Steven and the team were on-site, busily setting up the catering equipment and readying the food for the special occasion.
As they cooked the meats on the grill and simmered the jackfruit in a smokey hickory sauce, the other event workers worked quickly to set up the inflatable slides and assault course, bouncy castles and bungee trampolines around them. Other vendors arrived to sell fresh doughnuts, candyfloss, ice cream and rock candy.
The guests began to descend on the venue at 10 am, and Hog Roast Pollington was delighted to greet them with our homemade BBQ burgers, gourmet sausages, spareribs, chicken kebabs, and BBQ pulled jackfruit buns with a choice of fries, coleslaw and salad options. The guests enjoyed the food just as much as they enjoyed the variety of entertainment options available, and as the day went on, our team served many of the same faces!
