Hog Roast Owston was recently asked to cater for Cheryl and Luke’s 10th wedding anniversary party and we couldn’t have been more thrilled! In honour of the special occasion, the pair had decided to return to the hotel where their wedding took place a decade ago.
To their delight, many people from the original guest list had agreed to join them in celebrating their tin wedding anniversary, along with some new faces, who had either married into the family or had been born after the couple’s nuptials. This took the total number of guests to 150, and it was Hog Roast Owston’s job to make sure they were all well-fed!
Serving our most diverse menu, the Southern Slow Roast, was an excellent choice on this occasion as it offered something for everyone. The options of Texan 24-hour beef brisket, Cajun-spiced whole roast chickens and fall off the bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs with optional sauces was an instant hit with the group.
Our team also served Memphis-style crunchy coleslaw, macaroni and cheese and mixed sweet potato and regular fries, which complemented the meat options perfectly. Of course, we also made sure to include our entirely plant-based BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls with a vegan coleslaw, so the non-meat-eating guests were included in the fun!
This menu doesn’t typically include a dessert option, but Cheryl and Luke thought something sweet would round off the evening perfectly, and our catering manager, Steven, was in agreement. So, after clearing away everyone’s empty plates, Hog Roast Owston brought out the puds!
Rich and chocolatey profiteroles and summer fruit pudding were served as a buffet with fresh cream and a tea and coffee service (hot chocolate for the kids), which the guests were more than happy to indulge in.
We’re happy to say that by the end of the night, everyone was full to the brim and had wonderful things to say about the food we served. Hog Roast Owston had a wonderful time too, and we’re so glad that Cheryl and Luke trusted us to be a part of their 10th wedding anniversary celebrations. It was certainly a party to remember!
