This festive season, the spirit of giving has been at an all time high, and Hog Roast Mexborough has been busier than ever supporting charities and their heartfelt missions. One standout event this season was a glamorous charity ball organised by Alison, a dedicated fundraising officer for a charity that supports those living with chronic illnesses. When Alison approached us to cater her event, we were thrilled to help make the evening spectacular.
Planning an event for 350 guests is no small feat, but at Hog Roast Mexborough, we pride ourselves on making the process smooth, stress-free, and budget-friendly. Alison loved our extensive menu options and was delighted by the value we offered. From the get-go, we worked closely with her to craft a menu that would cater to the varied tastes and dietary needs of her guests.
The charity ball took place in a stunning hotel function suite on Saturday, and we were ready with a feast fit for royalty. As guests arrived, they were treated to an array of canapés and refreshing drinks to set the tone for the night. Dinner was an elegant affair, featuring spit-roasted English lamb paired with Yorkshire puddings and mint sauce, alongside tender, whole-roasted free-range chickens accompanied by chipolata sausages and sage and onion stuffing. For veggie enthusiasts, we created vibrant skewers packed with colourful veggies (and optional halloumi), served with fluffy flatbreads and creamy tzatziki. Add in a lineup of sides like fresh salads, gourmet coleslaw, and buttery new potatoes, and every guest built their perfect plate.
No grand meal is complete without dessert, and Hog Roast Mexborough’s decadent chocolate tortes and strawberry vacherins with passion fruit cream were the perfect sweet endings. They disappeared from plates almost as quickly as they were served!
The night was a tremendous success, raising much-needed funds for a worthy cause. Between the glittering ambience, Hog Roast Mexborough’s sumptuous food, and the generosity of attendees, it was an evening to remember.
