Breaking the Meat Mold: How Hog Roast Sprotborough Nailed a Meat-Free Feast For A Client’s Veganuary Party!

So, when Catherine reached out to us at the start of January with a unique request, we were thrilled to roll up our sleeves and get creative. Catherine and her family had committed themselves to Veganuary, and she wanted to host a meal that not only kept everyone on track with their New Year’s resolution but also knocked their socks off. A big ask for a business with “Hog Roast” in the name, you might think—but for us, it was an exciting challenge!

Fast forward to the big day, Hog Roast Sprotborough’s catering crew transformed Catherine’s vision into a vibrant vegetarian and vegan banquet. Guests were welcomed with an array of tantalising canapés, including mini pizzas topped with fresh, flavourful veggies, perfectly baked mini quiches, and an assortment of Indian bites bursting with spices. The atmosphere was lively and filled with anticipation as the family mingled and nibbled on these delicious entrees.

We prepared hearty vegetarian burgers and meatless sausages, served alongside BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls paired with crunchy, plant-based coleslaw. To complement these dishes, we prepared a vibrant green leaf salad, a tangy pasta salad, and a generous helping of crispy, golden fries. Our serving table was a rainbow of colours and aromas, making it a true feast for the eyes and the palate.

As Catherine’s guests tucked into the meal, their scepticism quickly melted away. Many couldn’t believe the jackfruit wasn’t pork, and the plant-based coleslaw earned rave reviews. Laughter and chatter filled the room as plates were emptied and second helpings were claimed. By the end of the day, it was clear the event had been a hit, leaving everyone impressed and inspired to tackle the rest of their meat-free month with enthusiasm.
