December has arrived, and with it comes the undeniable magic of Christmas! Here at Hog Roast Denocestria, we’ve been decking the halls (and the roasting pigs) for weeks, gearing up for one of our favourite times of the year. Last Saturday, we kicked off the season in style at a nearby village’s Christmas light switch-on, and what a spectacular day it was!
The event was a perfect slice of holiday magic, drawing hundreds of locals eager to soak in the festive atmosphere. The bustling village square was packed with hundreds of cheerful locals, carollers belting out festive classics, Santa holding court in his grotto (complete with elves, of course), and even real-life reindeer ready for their close-ups. Add carnival rides, rows of handmade gift stalls, the mouthwatering smell of street food, and—you guessed it—our hog roast sizzling away, and you’ve got yourself a winter wonderland!
As the snow lightly dusted the ground, Hog Roast Denocestria served up hog roast rolls so warm and delicious, they could melt even the frostiest Scrooge. Think tender, juicy pulled pork, golden crispy crackling, sage and onion stuffing, and a dollop of sweet applesauce, all snugly wrapped in gluten-free buns. Every bite was like a cosy hug for your taste buds. We lost count of how many rolls we served, but by the time the event wrapped up, all that was left of our hog was, well, memories.
The grand finale? At 5pm, the moment everyone had been waiting for—the Christmas lights came to life! Cheers erupted as the village sparkled in festive glory. (Okay, not everyone cheered; a few were too busy devouring their hog roast rolls!) It was a magical moment, and we were thrilled to play a part in it.
With events like this popping up all over the region, Hog Roast Denocestria is gearing up for even more festive fun. We can’t wait to bring the warmth and theatre of our spit-roasts to communities near and far. Whether it’s the smell of slow-roasted pork wafting through the air or the sight of happy faces savouring their first bite, nothing beats the joy of sharing our passion with others during this magical season.
Stay tuned for more updates on our festive adventures—and if you spot us at a local Christmas event, come say hi (and grab a roll)! Here’s to a season filled with flavour, fun, and plenty of festive cheer.
