Earlier in November, Hog Roast Darrington catered for a fundraising event for York Theatre Royal. This theatre is the oldest one in York and has been open since 1744, so it is incredibly important that the heritage of this building is preserved and shown off! Not only is it a beautiful building, but it is also a great part of York life, hosting all kinds of shows and performances throughout the year. It is no wonder that fundraising events are being hosted to help save this wonderful piece of history! For the event, our catering manager Steven was hired to serve a classic hog roast to 75 guests at a private residence in Fulford. This menu was ideal for the occasion as it is incredibly delicious and includes a selection of dishes for the guests to choose from.
On the 5th of November, Steven and the Hog Roast Darrington team arrived at the venue and got to work preparing the catering in time for the 19:00 mealtime. We began by ensuring that the hog was roasting to perfection and packed full of incredible flavour before it was expertly carved by our chef. For meat-free guests, we also provided BBQ pulled jackfruit. The mains were served in fresh bread rolls, with gluten-free rolls also on offer. We also prepared sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, homemade chips, and crispy crackling, creating a varied and delicious evening meal. Our catering was a great addition to the event and ensured that all of the guests had something delicious to eat.
