Lydia’s eldest daughter is turning 10 this October and she has planned a wonderful celebration for the occasion. Her daughter loves all things animal-related, so Lydia planned to host an animal-themed party at a local farmyard. The venue has plenty of animals for the guests to feed and pet, as well as a converted barn that is ideal for enjoying a meal and opening presents. For the catering, Lydia contacted our manager Steven and arranged for a classic hog-roast to be served at the party, alongside hot dogs and chips. The Hog Roast Maltby was more than happy to agree to this menu and this party sounded like it was going to be a lot of fun!
Steven and his team arrived at the venue on the day of the party and got to work setting up our catering station in the barn. We began by slow-roasting the hog and ensuring that it was cooked to perfection before it was expertly carved and served in fresh bread rolls. The rolls were accompanied by sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling, to create a delicious main course. For younger guests, we also served hot dogs in cobs, as well as chips and seasonal salad dishes to ensure that there was something for every guest to enjoy. The menu was a great addition to the party and went down a treat once the guests had all worked up an appetite!
